Taming its shadow
Your shadow is the arrogance that cuts you off from others and the impatience with those who fly lower, when they are the ones holding up the ground you land on. Once a week, sincerely ask someone you consider slow to explain what they see from where they stand: you will discover an angle your altitude hides from you. And dare to say I don't know, or it hurts, out loud once a month: vulnerability does not clip your wings, it makes them credible.
When it calls you
The Eagle calls you when your gaze lifts for no reason toward a point in the sky, when you dream of cliffs and rising winds, when a decision demands you and you feel you have let yourself be locked in the details for too long. It circles above you when your ambition has gone out or, on the contrary, when it has made you solitary. It asks you to regain altitude, but without forgetting to come back down to those who stay on the ground.
A ritual
At high noon, climb to a high point, a hill, a roof, a top floor, and look far for five minutes; on the way down, call someone to ask how they are, without talking about yourself.
